Korle Bu Teaching Hospital elevators dysfunctioning: Patients allegedly being charged GHC50
The elevators to the Orthopedic department of the Korle Bu Teaching hospital have not been functional.
This has led to some people taking advantage of the situation by exploiting from the sick.
Following the breakdown of the lifts, patients, and visitors of the health facility have had to endure using the stairs before getting to various wards.
In the past few weeks, some patients who can not endure using the stairs are allegedly being charged by some individuals at the hospital to carry them to their various destinations.
It is not established whether these individuals who are allegedly charging the sick are workers at the health facility but they seem to take full advantage of the situation and have been cashing out.
Kessben FM’s Accra reporter Eric Kwame Barfi reporting on Breaking News with Kwasi Ntiamoah noted that it has been over three months since the elevators to the Orthopedic broke down.
