GNPC sponsors contestants of NSMQ 2022 with GHC50,000 to study in tertiary
Ghana National Petroleum Corporation has sponsored five constants of the National Maths and Science Quiz to help them further their education at the tertiary level.
The Chief Executive Officer of GNPC Mr. Opoku -Ahweneeh Danquah at the grand finale of the NMSQ contest at KNUST made a GHC50,000 cheque presentation of the sponsorship to the 2022 final constants.
In his remarks at the event Mr. Opoku -Ahweneeh said the NMSQ is a good project, and that is why the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has decided to join in promoting the study of Science and Maths, which is the bedrock of our very existence as a society. Added that every thriving society is making huge investments in the study and promotion of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
The CEO stated that Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), as the national oil company (NOC), recognizes the urgent need to maximize local content and local participation for the people of Ghana, through developing expertise in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM) within the value chain, for job creation.
He lauded the management of Primetime production for having sustained this project for the past 29 years. He said next year will be three (3) decades of the National Science and Maths Quiz, one whole generation of patronizing the backbone of the country.
