AshGold v GFA: Contempt case adjourned to October 26
The Accra Human Rights Court 2 has adjourned the contempt case against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) by Ashantigold Football Club to Wednesday, October 26, 2022.
It is the second time that the case has been adjourned.
The case was adjourned following a directive by the Judge, Justice Nicholas Agbodakpi, for Randy Abbey to appear in court to open his defence in the Mini trial.
The bailiff, Ellis Aramah concluded his testimony this morning after cross-examination by the council for the Ghana Football Association Lawyer Naa Odofoley Nortey.
Randy Abbey, Sammy Anim Addo, and Frederick Acheampong were absent from court. The Executive Council for GFA informed the court they are on a national assignment.
The mini trail has been conducted to determine whether or not Dr Randdy Abbey was served with an interlocutory Injunction order made by the court on 28 September 2022.
Ashgold cited the Executive Council for contempt claiming the body ignored an interlocutory injunction placed on 2022/2023 Betpawa Premier League which kicked off on September 10, 2022.
The Miners are seeking imprisonment for the GFA Executive Council Members for what they describe as disregard for the court’s dignity, respect, and authority.
