NDC Ashanti region gladly welcome Kwabre East residents to NDC after Akufo Addo’s comment (Video)

The Ashanti regional New Democratic Congress have described President Akufo Addo’s recent tour in the region as an insult to the people of Asanteman.

Following the president’s comment about the people of Kwabre East over the bad roads in the district, many have described the president’s response to the people of Kwabre as unfortunate.

The president in a radio interview while on tour in Kumasi said he’s not frightened by any threats from the people who voted for him to switch allegiance to NDC or decide not to vote at all.

“I am saying people make those kinds of threats, me, they don’t frighten me. Somebody votes for you, somebody supports you, it is because they want you to do things for them, so I understand that.

“There is no need for people to say if I do not do it, this or that. That is your own problem. Of course, I will fulfil my promises.

“But if it so happens that you decide to vote for the NDC, that is your problem, that is not mine. Nobody will hold your hand to thumbprint for any candidate, the most important thing is that I understand the responsibility and we will deal with it,” President Akufo Addo said.

The response by the president obviously has not gone down well with the people of Kwabre East who voted for him.

The Ashanti Regional NDC leadership on Thursday held a press conference to open their arms of welcome to the disappointed Kwabre East residents.
