We don’t steal fuel, Our leaders rather steal from our salaries – Striking drivers of MMT storm Aseda House

A number of Drivers of the Metro Mass Transit in Kumasi stormed the premises of Kessben FM/TV on Thursday to express their grievances concerning their condition of service with the Government owned transport Company.

Many of the drivers are currently on strike thus calling for the Managing Director Albert Adu Boahen to be sacked because of unpaid salaries.

Spokesperson of the drivers, Francis Gyampo speaking on Kessben TV’s Breaking News with Kwasi Ntiamoah rubbished claims that some of the drivers have been stealing fuel from the company for their selfish gains.

Mr Francis stressed that drivers of MMT are not thieves but it is their leadership who have been engaging in acts of thievery through their salaries.

According to him, in the last four years, the leadership have been deducting some monies from their salary to make up an agreed land purchase but it was recently found out that though the monies were being deducted it was not sent to the appropriate place.
