I finally believed there was no juju in football after a fetish priest pointed to our equipment officer that he was going to score 2 goals – Eben Dida
Former Accra Hearts of Oak shot-stopper, Eben Dida says he does not believe black magic works in Association football.
Eben Dida speaking with Tony Muntana on Kessben TV’s Extra Time sports revealed that he fully got convinced Juju does not work in football after a fetish priest they consulted years ago told them the equipment officer of their team was going to score.
“When I was in the 2nd division, we consulted a fetish priest and our equipment officer (Mazoa) was among us clapping and singing along. The fetish priest said he was going to score two goals.
That was when I believed that there is nothing like Juju in football and I lost hope in that. How can a Mozoa score?
With these juju men, they take the credit when things work out for the team but when the team loses they give out excuses.
During my playing days, I used to put on beads on my waist just to scare opponents but there was nothing in the beads” He said.
Eben Dida was a member of the famous Hearts of Oak team that dominated the Ghanaian topflight league and had a great impact in Africa’s elite club competition in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
