Black Stars too have been disgracing Ghana, Have they stopped going to Africa – Sarfo Gyamfi replies to those saying Kotoko & Hearts should stop playing Africa

Former Ghana Black Stars and Asante Kotoko footballer, Sarfo Gyamfi has responded to the suggestion that Kotoko and Hearts should stop participating in African competitions because of their poor showing in recent years.

Some notable figures in Ghana football including the top hierarchy of GHALCA and some former footballers have suggested that Ghanaian teams should stop participating in the CAF champions league and the confederation cup for some years to prepare adequately for the elite competitions.

Sarfo Gyamfi replying to the calls told Sir Joe Laka on Kessben TV’s Midfield Action stated that it will be a wrong approach to fix the situation.

“Black Stars of Ghana have been disgracing Ghana at tournaments, have they stopped playing in Africa? The people saying that should stop saying this.

If you go to school, how can you not sit for an examination? The thing is that we have to prepare well, if you don’t prepare well that is what happens. Black Stars have not been doing well recently yet they still participate in tournaments. I don’t agree with those saying that the local clubs should stop playing in Africa because they don’t perform. Have the Black Stars been performing well? Sarfo stated.
