We should invite him – Kessben TV’s sports pundit Newton Lartey speaks about Salisu’s situation

Ever since Ghana booked their ticket to the biggest football tournament in the World, there have been divided opinions amongst Ghanaians regarding whether Salisu Mohammed should be invited by the Black Stars to feature in the Qatar 2022 Worldcup.

The Southampton defender apparently has rejected multiple offers from Ghana to play for the senior national football team.

The GFA communication director, Henry Asante Twum recently revealed that the football association has attempted 5 times just to get the player to play for Ghana Black Stars but for reasons best known to Salisu, he has rejected all the calls.

After Ghana beat Nigeria to qualify for the Qatar Worldcup, the subject matter has been whether to still pursue the defender or forget about him.

The loudest of the opinions from Ghanaians is that the nation should forget about him but there are few who still reckon Ghana will need the quality of Salisu in the Worldcup.

Peter Newton Lartey is obviously part of the few who think Salisu’s quality will help the Black Stars at the World and therefore should invite him if the player is ready to play for Ghana.

Many Ghanaians have warned they may even withdraw their support for the Black if the FA still pursue the defender on the basis that the Southampton player disregarded the nation when Ghana needed him the most.
