Coffee production has more prospects than Cocoa in Ghana – Dr Chief Nsarko

Dr Chief Nat Nsarko, President of the Coffee Federation of Ghana has stated that per research conducted, Coffee Production in Ghana has more PROSPECTS than cocoa but much of the government’s attention is diverted to the cocoa sector.

Speaking in an interview with Kwame Appiah Kubi on Kessben Maakye, following the impacts on coffee production recently in the country, Dr Nat Nsarko said that, the amount of capital required to process coffee is very low unlike cocoa production yet still the government is not paying much attention to the coffee sector.

He noted that investing in coffee production in Ghana does not need huge amount but the government has neglected coffee production in the country.

According to him,  with coffee production, a lot of labour force is also required therefore investing in the coffee process can create employment opportunities for the youth in the country which can lead to resolving unemployment situations.

Dr Nsarko again appealed to the government to support youth in the coffee sector to bring income to the country.
