Akufo Addo’s hometown, Kyebi flooded, hundreds displaced (Video)
Some areas in Akyem Abuakwa in the Eastern region of Ghana got flooded after heavy downpours on Wednesday 28th September.
The over 12 hours of non-stop heavy rainfall obstructed the flow of vehicular traffic affecting movement connecting communities including Kyebi the hometown of the president of Ghana, H.E Akufo Addo.
Many commuters were left stranded and many households displaced. At Kyebi, some people had their rooms stormed with the water at the lengthen level of their rooms.
According to the residents, this is the first time the town has been flooded in history despite the torrential rains every year.
Many of the residents blamed the Galamsey activities of neighbouring towns as the cause of the flood.
