Sewfi: Policeman chasing illegal miners gets drowned & dies at Galamsey site (Video)
A member of the police task force that invaded a Galamsey site to stop illegal miners from engaging in Galamsey activities has passed away after he was drowned in the Galamsey river in the Western North region of Ghana.
According to eyewitnesses the Policeman who for now has only been identified as Nuhu fell into the Galamasey river and got drowned.
When he was retrieved from the deep river, his body was lifeless. Doctors pronounced him dead after he was taken to the Sewfi Government Hospital.
The Assemblyman of the area speaking on Kessben TV’s Breaking confirmed that sad development.
He narrated that he was on his farm working early morning when he got a phone call that a team of police taskforce has stormed the Galamsey site. “Few minutes later I also got another call from the site informing me that one of the policemen had fallen in the river, drowned and is dead” He said.
