Out of 10, I will give him 7/10 – Retired referee GK Manu gives Yao Bless good ratings
The performance of Referee Yaw Bless who handled the Asante Kotoko vs Hearts of Oak game last Sunday has become the subject matter of most football discussions.
Most football enthusiasts reckon the referee performed abysmally with how he handled the game, especially denying Asante Kotoko penalties.
Many have avered that at least Kotoko should have been awarded three penalties in the game.
Yaw Bless has since been under severe criticism, especially from the supporters of Kumasi Asante Kotoko who believed the referee denied them the victory against their bitterest rivals.
GK Manu reacting to the performance of Yao Bless underscored that the few indecisions by the referee cannot take the shine from the young referee.
“He did well but as a referee, you can’t get all decisions right. People will expect you to take some decisions.
On Oppong’s tackle, the supporters were calling for a penalty, the was the first push, there was a push before the push.
And the Ugandan striker there was push which I felt for that one it should have been a penalty but maybe he did not see it.
Apart from that, for the others, I leave it to the referee position he took. Out of ten, I will give him seven” He said on Kessben FM’ Extra Time Sports.
