You cannot mention 3 great football clubs in Africa without Asante Kotoko – Ex-President Kuffour (Video)
Former president of Ghana, H.E John Agyekum Kuffour reckons Asante Kotoko is amongst the top three great African football clubs.
The former BoD chairman of the Kumasi-based football club has challenged the team to perform well as they kick off their 2022-23 CAF champions league campaign against Burkinabe side RC Kadiogo.
Ex-President Kuffour speaking on Kessben TV ahead of the Kotoko game against RC Kadiogo which is scheduled to take place in Benin on 12th September 2022, said the team have to put it in mind that they are one of the best clubs in Africa therefore they should be motivated enough to make Ghana proud.
“The spirit of the nation is behind them so they should go out there and make the nation proud. You cannot mention three or four best clubs in the continent (Africa) without mentioning Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
They should plan as a team and follow the instructions of their coaches. It is not about individuals. In football the most important thing is to score, the whole idea is to score so they should work as a team and get the desired result” He said.
The game will be played at the Cotonou’s Mathieu Kerekou Stadium under closed doors in Benin on Monday at 4pm.
The second leg is scheduled for Sunday, September 18, 2022 at the Baba Yara Sports stadium and will kick off at 3:00pm.
