Aisha Huang: Aning questions ‘sudden rush’ by state bodies to probe; asks where they were when she was roaming – Aning
The Director, Faculty of Academic Affairs and Research, Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre, Professor Kwesi Aning, has said he is surprised at the action of state agencies for rushing to say they will investigate Aisha Huang’s re-entry into the country without permission after her deportation.
Speaking on the Key Points on TV3/3FM Saturday September 10, Prof Aning said he does not buy into the action of the state.
“The sudden rush by state agencies to say they will investigate. Where were they when she was moving around doing her business? I don’t buy this at all,” he said.
He further said the the offence of Aisha Huang should be elevated to a treasonable action.
“This woman’s danger to us needs to be elevated so that we can use the law as much as possible,” Prof Aning said.
Her action ” should be elevated to treasonable act. Let us not rush to quickly try Aisha Huang.
“It is not only Aisha, let us identify Ghanaians who have facilitated her criminal enterprise.
“Let’s not make this a one man-show, let us understand the network. Who gave the license and how Aisha Huang took the gold out?”
On Monday September 5, an Accra Circuit Court remanded into custody 4 Chinese nationals for their alleged involvement in illegal small-scale mining activities.
