Anointed Technical Training Institute set to scale up TVET in the country – Samuel Adjei Boateng

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Anointed Technical Training Institute, Mr. Samuel Adjei Boateng has stated that as part of the effort to advance the country to a rapid economic growth and development, TVET institutions must be adequately resourced to challenge the youth to embrace technical education in the country.

He said the increase in youth unemployment is alarming therefore stakeholders in the TVET value chain must roll out programmes and initiatives to entice the youth to develop interest in hands on education to enable them become self-employed and future entrepreneurs in the World of Works (WoWs).

Mr. Samuel Adjei Boateng was speaking at the 2nd graduation ceremony of 60 graduands of Anointed Technical Training Institute in Accra, on the theme “TVET for Youth Employment and Sustainable Economy” in Accra.

The institute have campuses in Accra and Kumasi and offers courses which are 80% hands on programmes which includes mechanics, automechanics, electricals, industrial automation, renewable energy, security systems, robotic and artificial intelligence, renewable energy, electrical wiring, computer hardware, industrial automation among others.

Trainees are taken through intensive workshops and laboratory practical experiences as well as field working exercises with state of the art equipments facilitated by resource persons with the relevant technical knowhow.

The Chief Executive Officer urged the youth to take advantage of the career opportunities to be future entrepreneurs to enable them own their own business and called on the youth to embrace TVET towards their working success.

Turning the spotlight on the institute’s goal, Mr. Boateng said the efforts will be made to establish branches across the country and the West Africa sub-region.

In his statement, Mr. Emile Kofi Bosiako Ofori, Director of Administration, of Anointed Technical Training Institute said teaching and learning requires 80% hands-on practical training and is all year round hence unemployed youth must take advantage and be enrolled.

He added that in three (3) years of operations, the institute have opened another branch in Kumasi, adding that plans are far advanced to set up other branches across the country and said further that the move is to urge the youth to enroll and join the TVET fraternity to become a successful entrepreneur.

In an address, Dr. Kwadwo Anokye Dompreh of the Department of Physics, University of Cape Coast said the graduands are challenged to create their own jobs saying the youth unemployment in the country is alarming adding government cannot create all the jobs.

He however commended the management and staff of the Institute for the successful graduation ceremony and urged graduands to exhibit excellence in all working jurisdictions and be good ambassadors of the institute.

He again expressed his gratitude to the graduands for their foresights in TVET saying the training programme will help their capacity to be self-employed.

ATTI vision is to bridge the gap between engineering theory and practice through hands-on training and to raise practical engineers who are equipped with relevant skills for solving real word problems and the capacity to b e self-employed.
