Mahama, Sammy Gyamfi Fingered In Multimedia Journalist’s $2000 Bribery Scandal

Forrmer President John Dramani Mahama and the National Communications Officer of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi, have been cited in a bribery scandal that has hit the airwaves the past few days.

An audio conversation which has gone viral, between popular serial caller of the opposition National Democratic Congress in the Ashanti Region, Appiah Stadium and one Julius Agahowa, another NDC activist in the region, reveals the sordid details about how the former President, through Sammy Gyamfi and another person, Abass Nurudeen Abass, bribed Nana Kwadwo Juantuah, a morning show host of Nhyira 104.5 FM, an affiliate of Multimedia.

‘’This boy (Jantuah) is helping us with his program on Nhyira FM. Chris and his boss (Mahama) sent you (Abass) with $2000, and Chris added his GHC2000 to it to be given to Nana Juantuah and you’re pissed because Chris didn’t give you the GHC2000. I was there when you (Abass) called me to inform me that Kwadwo Juantuah has been given $2000, and I cautioned him not to discuss such a matter with me in a phone conversation since my line has been tapped by the BNI so it is not every issue that can be discussed on phone’’ Appiah Stadium can be heard in the audio.

He continued; ‘’Little did I know that I wasn’t the only person he had told this (bribery issue) to, he had actually discussed it with some other people, so I called Kwadwo Juantuah and told him that if he doesn’t take care, Abass would end his radio journalism career because if the NPP people get wind of John Mahama having facilitated a $2000 bribery for him, would tear him into pieces’’

According to Appiah Stadium, Sammy Gyamfi has been visiting NPP gurus to solicit funds for his self-serving agenda. He also revealed that Abass Nurudeen Abass has been broadcasting to people all the NPP gurus he and Sammy Gyamfi have been visiting to collect monies. ‘’I have done an audio informing Sammy Gyamfi that all his dealings are in the open, thanks to Abass. The places you went, the envelopes you took, the times you went to all these people are in the open. Sammy Gyamfi was shocked on the phone when I revealed this information to him’’ Appiah Stadium said.

‘’Abass and Sammy Gyamfi came to a Bawumia businessman, K.O is his name, all these are out there’’ the serial caller, Appiah Stadium revealed these to Agahowa. He also revealed several juicy details about other deals of Sammy Gyamfi in the audio.

It would be recalled that, Nana Kwadwo Juantuah, host of Nhyira 104.5 FM’s morning show, Kuro Yi Mu Nsem, constantly attacks President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia on his show. His show, which doesn’t focus on issues but the two personalities often gets tongues wagging as to the motive behind the attacks.

Kwadwo Juantuah, who uses his show to project former president Mahama while running down Akufo-Addo and Bawumia has also come under a barrage of criticisms following the $2000 bribe paid to him by Mahama.

Many Ghanaians have come to realize that the $2000 from Mahama is to induce him to insult Akufo-Addo and Bawumia. Attempts to do damage control of this scandal have yielded no tangible fruits since the facts are too weighty to be whisked away.
