Take us to asylum hospital if we think of creating new voter’s register – EC (Video)

The Director of electoral service at the Electoral Commission of Ghana, Dr Serebour Quaicoe has said under no circumstance will the EC create a new register ahead of the 2024 General elections.

The Minority Caucus in Parliament apparently alleged that the Electoral Commission (EC) is planning to compile a fresh voters’ register for the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.

The EC has come out and debunked the claims of the Minority stressing that there will not be a compilation of a new register but is a continues exercise to register new voters.

Dr Serebour Quicoe speaking with Kessben TV’s Kwame Appiah Kubi reiterated that there will never be a new register ahead of the 2024 General elections.

“We have not thought about compiling any new register. Take us to asylum for mental check-ups if we think about compiling a new register. Why compile a new register while we have the most credible register in recent years? It is a continuous registration exercise for those who could not register because of one or two reasons and also for newly attained 18-year-olds.
