Reserve players of our days are better than the starters of today – Kotoko legend, Ntow Gyan

Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Black Stars player, Kofi Ntow Gyan has described the current generation of footballers, especially in Ghana are lazy.

The Kotoko legend asserted that the bench team of their heydays are relatively better than the first team players of the current generation of players.

Speaking on Kessben TV with Sir Joe Laka, Ntow Gyan noted that the current generation of players does not train enough to possess the requisite qualities of a good footballer.

“The current generation of footballers do not train well. The players who were on the bench during our time are far better than this current crop of footballers.

If you watch them play, you see they don’t have the requisite stamina and energy to play. This situation is so because most of them are very lazy.

The coaches should somehow be blamed. They can’t transform a player. You may be having about 30 players but there will be no striker, as a coach you should be able to transform some of the players to forwards” He said.
