Asante Kotoko’s debt for a season hit GHC 3.9 million (Video)

The debt of Kumasi Asante Kotoko rose to GHC3.9 million after the 2021-22 football season, Kessben Sports has established.

This comes as a huge surprise to many as in the history of the club, the debt of the club has never risen to such an amount for a season.

The management of the club led by Nana Yaw Ampoonsah prior to the season informed the BoD of the club that he would not need any money from them.

Expectedly, the management of the club thought they could be running the club with the influx of sponsorships they signed prior to the season but reality set in.

After making do with the revenue and the expenses throughout the season a deficit of GHC3.9m was recorded.
