Govt to reduce physical deficit to 6.6% to help in developmental projects to be churned out – Kofi Tonto

Kofi Tonto, a member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) communications team, says the mid-year budget is a supplementary budget.

According to him, there’s a difference between revenue generation and expenditure as the per cent of the gross domestic product (GDP) is about 7.2%.

Speaking with Kwame Appiah Kubi ‘Mr. Speaker on the Maakye program, he stated that, the government is looking forward to reducing the physical deficit to 6.6% to help in the developmental project in the country.

He noted that, for the first time in history, a governing government has been honest with its people about the economy.

Kofi Tonto made reference to the Finance Minister, Hon. Ken Ofori Atta’s statement which states that “we find ourselves in economy dark days” clearly shows that, the governing government is real to Ghanaians.

“The government has cut down 30% on expenditure to make the life of Ghanaians a better one despite the hardship in the country” He said.
