Two arrested for parading as NIA Personal after taking money from registrants (Video)

Nicholas Odoom and his accomplice who’s a Nigerian national have been arrested by Awutu Bereku police for parading themselves as National Identification Authorities (NIA) officers and taking bribes from people who are in a queue to register for their Ghana cards.

The incident happened at the Awutu Bereku NIA sub-office in the Awutu Senya West District.

According to sources, the two suspects usually come early in the morning each day to take money ranging from Gh20 upwards from the registrants all in the name of helping them get their cards faster but later leave the premises without helping them.

Mr Richard Ekow France NIA Awut, the Awutu Bereku sub-office director got injured in the process to arrest the perpetrators but has been treated and discharged at Awutu Bereku health centre.

Mr Richard Ekow France confirmed and narrated the incident to Kessben FM’s Mireku Nyampong.
