Kumasi Asante Kotoko forward Frank Mbella could end up joining the German side as Freiburg SC has shown keen interest to sign the Cameroonian, Kessben Sports can report.
Our sources at the Kumasi-based football club reveal that former coach of Asante Kotoko Ernest Middendorp is playing a huge role for Freiburg to secure the signature of Mbella.
Talks with the Asante Kotoko management have already begun about the possible move for the Cameroonian to join the German club as he is yet to sign for Udinese which according to early reports also showed interest in the player.
Sporting Director for Udinese Pierpaolo Marino was present at the Accra Sports Stadium to watch Mbella play for Kotoko in their last game of the season against Accra Lions.
Mbella who joined Kotoko at the start of the 2021/2022 season, helped Kotoko to their 25th Ghana Premier League title but missed out on the goal king award as Ashgold’s Yaw Annor beat him to that.
