9 months without pay: We are bleeding – NABCO workers to report Akufo-Addo to Otumfuo (Video)

The Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) say the government has not paid them their GH₵700 monthly allowance for the past nine months.

The president of the NABCO Association, Dennis Katakyie speaking on Kessben FM’s Breaking News with Nyakoh Abronomah said life has become unbearable for them over the months, stressing that the Akufo Addo-led government has really disappointed them.

“How do we survive in these hard times. Working for nine months without pay is unbearable. On 29th July 2022, we are going to hold a press conference at the Kumasi Cultural centre.

After the press conference, we will then send a petition to the Asantehene about our situation. You remember what the Asantehene told Akufo-Addo, that Ghanaians voted out Mahama because of hunger, Now Akufo has come and we are hungry” Denis said.

The term of engagement of the NABCO workers apparently came to an end in October 2021 but a letter from the vice president’s office asked the trainees to continue working at their various stations.

Since then, the trainees say they have not received their monthly allowance of GHC700.
