Stop leaking Information to the president for positions – Ashanti MPs told
Former Member of Parliament for Nsuta- Kwamang Beposo, Hon. Kwame Asafo Adjei has expressed his worry over the state in which some members of Parliament of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) caucus in the Ashanti region are leaking information to the president for appointments.
Speaking to Newsmen on Thursday 21st July 2022, the former Legislator revealed that, some MPs in the Ashanti region allegedly leak information to gain a position or favour in this government which will ruin the party’s fortune in the 2024 election.
According to him, leaking information from the region will always tarnish their image, especially the majority leader, Hon Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu. This follows an attack on the Majority Leader and Suame MP, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu by his constituents who were not happy about the state of road infrastructure in the region.
Mr Asafo Adjei used the platform to condemn the Suame constituents who attacked their MP on Monday at the Suame Magazine. He added that he was not perturbed for not being on any board during his eight years stay in parliament but others are part of many boards, therefore, urging them to desist from such actions.
He noted that the party leaders should not shield anyone who is found leaking information to enable them to get a position. According to him, the Ashanti MPs believe that if road projects in the region are completed, constituents’ trust in the government will increase.
