National Tenants Union of Ghana to petition Akufo Addo over high rent charges & years of advance payment

National Tenants Union of Ghana (NATUG) has bemoaned over the high rent charges in the country.

The Public Relations Officer of the NATUG, Reindolf Afrifa speaking in an interview on Breaking News with Kwasi Ntimoah expressed worry over how landlords have increased rent charges over the years.

According to him, it is not also not legal for the landlords to be taking advance payment of more than six months but the reality has rather been the otherwise as landlords do take an advance payment of as 2 years.

He revealed the association’s intention to petition the office of the president with urgency to the call.

NATUG is an umbrella organization representing tenants in Ghana. It was established to assist tenants through education, provision of legal information on rents and lobbying for tenant’s legislation especially Social housing and tenants rights.
