Islamic Senior High shooting: Journalists created too much panic that could have compounded the situation – Sam Pyne (Video)
The Chief Executive officer of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Mr. Samuel Pyne reckons Journalists oversensationalized with their report on the Islamic senior high school shooting incident on Monday 13th June 2022.
Sam Pyne speaking on Kessben TV (Kessben Maakye) with Kwame Appiah Kubi stressed that the local media’s report about the incident was exaggerated.
He noted that the exaggerated reports by a section of the media created much panic which could have compounded the situation.
“How can you report that the police were shooting into the crowd. If you paint such a picture, the people you be thinking something very dangerous is happening but meanwhile, it was not so.
Some of the media men created so much panic about the whole incident, they should be very careful about such reports.
As I speak with you, everything calm has been restored and almost all the students who were hospitalized have been discharged” He Said.
