Caterers of school feeding programme demand increment of grant from Ghc1 to Gh3 Per Child

The caterers of the school feeding programme in Ghana are demanding an increment of the grant from the Government social intervention programme.

The feeding grant of the programme has been pegged at GH¢1 per plate of food for primary pupils and Junior High School students.

Following an increment in prices of foodstuffs in Ghana, the caterers say they find it very difficult to make do with the grant of Ghc1 per child.

On Monday, 16th May 2022, a group of the caterers held a press conference in Kumasi to make their demands heard.

Apart from Kumasi, a number of press conferences were also held in other regional capitals by the caterers.

Their demand is for the Government to simply increase the grant per child to Gh3.
