E-Levy does not affect Western Union, Vigo & other international money transfers – GRA

The Ghana Revenue Authority has emphatically noted that the implemented electronic levy does not affect international money transfers.

As the name suggests, much thought so far as the money is sent electronically, it is going to be taxed but the GRA says international money transfers like the Western Union, Vigo and other international remittances are not taxable with the E-levy.

Yakubu Anderson, a member of the E-levy technical committee at the Ghana Revenue Authority speaking on Kessben Maakye with Kwame Appiah Kubi was quick to note that international money transfers are exempted from E-levy.

He stressed that the E-levy is particularly charged to senders within Ghana who transfer money from their phones to others.
