Have a relook at ‘carry forwarding’ holidays, it affects productivity – Top Bussiness Mogul to Gov’t

The group chairman of the Kessben Conglomerate, Mr Kwabena Kesse has called on Government to have a second look at extending holidays into working weekdays.

The astute businessman Speaking on the May Day special programme on Kessben FM with Sammy Adu Boakye noted that there are so many holidays that are extended into the first working week that generally affect productivity.

In Ghana, when a holiday falls on a weekend, it is carried forward into the first working day of the week.

This practice according to the founder of the Kessben Group can be abolished to make room for high productivity.

He stressed that in advanced countries like the Netherlands when a holiday falls on a weekend, the holiday remains on the weekend and is not extended in a working week which has helped in building a stronger economy.
