Government accepted to pay Neutrality Allowance in 2019 for Political Gains – Local Gov’t expert (Video)

Local Government expert, Ing. Isaka Amon Kotei has stated that the ruling NPP government had to kowtow to the demand of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) because of the 2020 General election which was ahead.

Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) had to embark on a nationwide strike due to Government’s failure to pay their neutrality allowance.

According to CLOGSAG, they had an agreement with Government when reviewing their conditions of service and agreed with the Government to pay them a neutrality allowance.

The Government is however yet to honour its responsibilities on the agreement they had with CLOGSAG which led to the strike.

Ing. Isaka Amon reckons that the Civil and the Local Service staff have every right to demand what they agreed with the government.

Speaking on Kessben TV’s Maakye with Kwame Appiah Kubi, Ing. Isaka noted that you cannot really blame CLOSGAG because the neutrality allowance falls under their remuneration agreement.
