‘Parents of most of the 6000 deferred KNUST students did not have money to pay the fees due to hardship’ – GRASAG speaks (Video)

The Graduate Students‘ Association of Ghana (GRASAG) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology KNUST on Friday 22nd April 2022 held a press conference over the students who were deferred of their courses due to their inability to pay for their fees.

According to the University authorities, some students of the university used their school fees to venture into trading like bakery, Uber and sports betting.

This became a subject matter on both social media and the traditional media space but further explanations have been communicated.

Even though some students admitted that they used their school fees to venture into some business, the Graduate Students‘ Association of Ghana (GRASAG) of the school says majority of the students who were deferred had no money to pay for their fees due to the economic hardship.

GRASAG said, with their Ketewa Biaa Nswa scholarship fund, they will be assisting most of these students whose parents cannot afford their school fees due to hardship.
