Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwah explains why they had to file for an injunction on the implementation of E-levy (Video)
North Tongu Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwah has expounded their move to file for an injunction to be placed on the implementation of the E-levy bill which was recently passed.
According to the NDC MP, the process with which the E-levy bill was passed was unconstitutional.
He says as Ghanaians, they can not be sitting on their rights while Government does things with impunity.
Okudzeto recalled that when the E-levy bill was rejected in parliament last year in November — when the majority walked away from the floor of parliament, the supreme court later found the rejection unconstitutional because the minority who rejected the bill was not up 138 as the constitution requires.
Speaking on Kessben FM Maakye with Kwame Appiah Kubi, he stressed that the manner in which the bill was passed was unconstitutional with the 136 members of the majority who passed the bill into law early this month. The minority walked away from the floor before the passage of the bill.
