Mahama has only one term to serve so why force him on Ghanaians? NDC can only win 2024 with a different candidate – EIU

According to the Economic Intelligence Unit(EIU), the opposition NDC can only win the 2024 elections with a new candidate.

The Economic Intelligence Unit(EIU) emphasised that Ghana’s 8 years electoral cycle can be maintained only by having a fresh candidate to represent the biggest opposition party in the 2024 elections.

“The next parliamentary and presidential elections are due in 2024. Under the constitutionally mandated term limits, Mr Akufo-Addo cannot run for a third term.

Mr. Mahama is reportedly considering whether to run again, but we expect the NDC to seek to revitalise its prospects with a fresh candidate. After two terms of NPP government, we expect the NDC to win the 2024 presidential election and to gain a small majority in parliament,” the EIU said in its latest report.

The Kessben Maakye morning show team delved into the pro and cons of having the erstwhile president represent the NDC in the 2024 General elections.
