The National Communication Director of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Lawyer Yaw Buabeng Asamoah has attributed the decline of the Cedi to the high taste for imported goods.
Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, speaking with Kwame Appiah Kubi on Kessben Maakye underscored that one of the major reasons the cedi is not performing well on the stock market is a result of the mad chase for more dollars to import goods into the country.
According to him, in a bid to avert the situation, the NPP government is more focused to ensure the 1 District, 1 Factory is fully operationalized to have more goods produced in Ghana which will chop down the huge numbers of imported goods in the country.
He stressed that people should have confident in the Akufo-Addo led the government to move the country out of the current hardships in the country.
Though he conceded the fact the cedi has not been doing well, he blamed the general hardship in the country on the effects of the Covid -19 Pandemic.
