‘With a common interest from majority & minority, forget, the issue won’t go anywhere’ – Inusah Fuseni on the Petition against the 3 MPs

Former member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Hon. Fuseni foresee that the petition against the 3 members of Parliament over their perpetual absenteeism in Parliament will be dead on arrival.

The speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin on Tuesday, 6th April 2022 referred the 3 MPs, Adwoa Safo of Dome Kwabanya, Kennedy Agyapong of Assin Fosu and Henry Quartey of Ayawaso Central to the privilege committee of parliament.

A member of the minority in Parliament, Hon. Muntaka apparently rose and contested the speaker’s intent to move a motion against the 3 MPs for their seats to be declared vacant.

The majority leader of the house, Hon Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu subsequently stood up and supported Muntaka’s argument.

The move by Hon Muntaka comes as a huge surprise to the former Tamale central MP, Hon Inusah Fuseni.

According to the former MP, Muntaka should have allowed the speaker to do his job and wondered why a minority caucus member would go on the same wavelength as the majority.

He added that whenever the minority and the majority have a common interest against an issue, it will be dead on arrival even though it might go through the process.
