‘If Bawumia wins, his running mate must come from Ashanti Region, NDC should pick a Ga running mate if they want to win’ – Ben Ephson
Ghanaian pollster, Ben Epshon has stated that Vice President Dr. Bawumia would have no choice but to pick a running mate from the Ashanti Region if he’s elected as the flagbearer of the NPP ahead of the 2024 presidential elections.
According to the experienced pollster, having a running mate coming from a stronghold of a party encourages more voters to come and vote during the election day.
Reacting to Obed Asamoah’s recent comment regarding the choice of the erstwhile president Mahama’s running mate for the 2020 Election that the NDC did not have a strong running mate in Prof Jane Agyemang, the pollster said Mahama did not lose the 2020 election due to having a weak running mate.
Ben Ephson stressed that the NDC lost the 2020 election because John Dramani Mahama did not have a firm position on the free SHS.
He however underscored that the NDC will have an edge to win the 2024 election if they pick a running mate from the Greater Accra region being a Ga.
