Ghana Football Association Should Be Applauded For How They Handled The Super Eagles of Nigeria (Video) – Frank Naro
The decision by Ghana Football Association to delay the announcement of players who were called up for the Black Stars World Cup playoff doubleheader against Nigeria received massive criticism from Ghanaians.
The GFA said the decision was to put away any pressure from the team and also not let their opponent have any idea of the team they were about to face.
Many Ghanaians especially Ghanaian sports journalists criticised the decision but the strategy worked perfectly for the Black Stars.
Experienced sports journalist, Frank Owusu Ansah speaking with Joe Laka on Kessben Midfield-Action craved the indulgence of Ghanaians especially his colleagues to sometimes respect the actions of the GFA if only their decisions are within the confines of the rules.
Ghana held Nigeria in the first leg of the doubleheader in a 0-0 game at the Baba Yara Stadium. Ghana qualified for the Qatar 2022 World Cup with an away goal rule after drawing 1-1 with the Green Super Eagles in Abuja on Tuesday 29th March 2022.
