Trade Union Congress (Ghana) admits National Association of Registered Midwives as a member

The National Association of Registered Midwives, Ghana of TUC is now a fully-fledged member of the Trade Union Congress (Ghana), the biggest trade union in the country.
This was witnessed at the grand inauguration of the Association by management of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) at the headquarters in Accra.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Secretary General of TUC Ghana, Dr. Yaw Baah commended the Association for fulfilling all the laid down requirements of the Congress which have enabled them to be a member of the labour institution.
“TUC welcomes and recognizes the Association as a member and the needed support and resources will be given to management for working tirelessly and their frantic effort to choose the mother of all unions”, he said.
The General Secretary urged the Association to adhere to the rules and regulations governing the Trade Union Congress (Ghana) and apply them in all working endeavour of the Association adding that doors are always open for issues to be discussed and find also amicable solutions to grievances at the labour front.
He advised the members of the Association not to engage in politics and must not be seen on platforms party activities and was quick to explain that it goes against the rules and the visions and missions of the TUC (Ghana) and again said any one or union found culpable will be duly sanctioned.
Dr. Yaw Baah challenged the executives of the Association to work diligently and create a conducive environment for a harmonious working condition to scale up the affairs of members to enable them build confidence in their working endeavours.
“Institute good network relations with TUC (Ghana) and direct all issues concerning labour and put in place measures and mechanisms to enhance the relationship between the two bodies,” he added.
For her part, the President of the National Association of Registered Midwives, Ghana of TUC, Ms Mary Ofosu, thanked the management of TUC (Ghana) for their fruitful discussions and deliberations that led to the successful inauguration.
She expressed her gratitude to all the executives for their commitment towards the realization and the union of TUC and again thanked them for the certificate of recognition as a member.
