E-levy: Ashaiman MP reveals actual reason why the Minority walked out, Heads to court to nullify the process (Video)

The Minority caucus in parliament has said they will be heading to the supreme court to ensure the passage of the E-levy bill is nullified.

The E-levy bill on Tuesday 29th March 2022 was passed by the Parliament of Ghana without the presence of the Minority who walked out after the finance minister moved the motion for the passage of the E levy bill.

According to the Minority, the E-levy bill was never part of the business for the day therefore had to walk out from the floor.

The minority insist that it was a deliberate move for the Government to go on that tangent knowing that one member of the minority was not in court on the day which reduced their numbers to 136 members.

Member of Parliament for Ashaiman, Hon Henry Norgbey speaking in an interview with Kwame Appiah Kubi on Kessben TV said they had to walk out because they know per the laws, less than one-half of the members of parliament cannot pass a bill.

He stressed that the passage was illegitimate noting that they will go to the supreme court to nullify the passage.
