Parliament should not be a rubber stamp institution – Asiedu Nketiah

The general secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reiterated the need to have proper scrutinization before approving bills and proposals in parliament.

The member of the parliamentary service board reckons the house should not just be a platform where approvals are made to push for the interests of some groups.

Asiedu Nketiah speaking on Kessben FM/TV’s Maakye with Kwame Appiah Kubi rubbished claims that the opposition NDC minority in parliament is on a deliberate move to frustrate the government.

He noted that it is very wrong for parliamentarians to sit stiff and just approve of anything that is presented before the house considering the effects of its consequence.

According to him the NDC has no agenda or whatsoever claimed by some people but are only carefully examining anything that is presented on the floor of the house.
