Ghana Communication Technology University holds 28th matriculation ceremony
The Ghana Communication Technology University has held its 28th matriculation ceremony with the call on students to take advantage of the academic programmes of the university to enable them excel in their working endeavours.
Speaking at the ceremony in Accra, the Vice Chancellor of GCTU, Prof Emmanuel Ohene Afoakwa challenged students to study hard and be committed to programmes offered by the university, adding that it will give them the opportunity to unearth the skills and potentials in their academic studies.
He said such teaching and learning will scale up their academic development towards the World of Works (WoW) in the future and explained further that it is part of the training and building the capacity of students which is offered by the university.
The Vice Chancellor thus advised students to demonstrate discipline and respect to lectures as well as staff and management and cultivate also the habit of studies since the University have instituted a sound learning environment for students.
Prof. Emmanuel Ohene Afoakwa urged matriculants to create a network among each other and explained that the gesture will enable the university authorities support students with the relevant tools and materials and however assured that such cooperation will address the challenges of students to help redefine their future careers.
“Sound teaching and learning are the core values of the university therefore management will continue to introduce new programmes for students to become renowned entrepreneurs, engineers, business administrator, ICT professionals among others”, he said.
He therefore called on students to contribute their quota towards the growth and development of the university adding that it forms part of their effort also to contribute meaningfully to their alma mater.
He commended parents for supporting the educational needs and commitments of their children and advised students to live up to their academic expectations.
