Covid 19 & lack of money slacked the La General Hospital project but Construction has begun – Contractor
Grounds works of the La General Hospital project has begun after 19 months of slack when President Akufo Addo officially cut sod for the commencement of construction of the project.
The local contractor for the Chinese construction firm, Poly Changda Overseas Engineering Company Limited, Ing Zakaria speaking with Kwame Appiah Kubi on Kessben Maakye noted that due to the associated effects of the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020, the project had to be delayed.
He stated that the Hospital project is set to be completed in 3 years’ time (36 months ).
According to him, there would be no phases as far as the project is concerned, noting that workers will be at the site in the next 36 months till the project is completed.
The project is a 164-bed hospital project estimated at a cost of €56 million.
