SCOTLAND: Aspiring NPP-UK Chairman Attends Ghana’s 65Th Independence Anniversary In Aberdeen
The NPP-UK Chairman Hopeful, Andy Owusu, on Saturday 5th March, 2022, attended the maiden Independence Ball organised for the Ghanaian community in Scotland.
The event, organised by the Ghana Society of Scotland, was the first of kind in Scotland. The ball was held at Aberdeen Sport Stadium and it was well attended by people from all over Scotland.
In his brief remarks, Mr. Andy Owusu thanked the organisers of the program for their efforts towards establishing a strong Ghanaian community presence in Scotland. The organiser affirmed their commitment to keep this event on the calendar as an established annual programme.
Mr. Andy Owusu was particularly impressed with the number of people who attended from other parts Scotland, particularly students, and the well – coordinated transport arrangements facilitated by the organisers.
The event which started at 7.30pm and ended at 1.10am was an eye glittering one; showcasing Ghanaian culture and tradition, music and food. The icing on the cake was a beautiful dance performance that showcased the tradition and custom of Ghana.
Andy Owusu took the opportunity to interact with many of the Ghanaian students and the member of the Ghanaian community in Scotland.
