President Akufo-Addo is digitizing Ghana to catch up the new era of technology – N/R Minister
Hon. Alhaji Shani Alhassan Northern Regional Minister, said the president and his Vice are working to place Ghana in the best position of digitization.
He made this statement at the public lecture under the theme digital colonialism and cyber crime; the impact of on the youth and the economy of Ghana, the way forward, which was to mark the 65th Independence celebration of Ghana.
The Minister added that, the government of Ghana is leaving no stone unturned in improving the quality of education and making it accessible to all citizens to the provision of digital learning tools.
Government has identified the importance Information technology, digitalization of the economy and also industrialization.
He added that, the current Ghana card, DVLA Registration, SIM registration and many more are all part of the initiatives taken by government to facilitate development and eradicate unnecessary corruption in the country.
Mr. Arnold Mashud lecturer of the Computer Science Department in at Tamale Technical University, who was the main Speaker of the Public Lecture.
Where he reiterated that the youth and future leaders of the country spend more time on social media than investing their time in research and job creation.
He further said the government need to sensitize and also engage the youth of the positivity use of the internet and the social media, which can help reduce the unemployment rate in the country.
