Its impossible to evacuate Ghanaians from Ukraine, even American is unable to – Ghana’s deputy foreign affairs minister
The deputy foreign affairs minister, Hon. Ampratwun has stressed it is currently impossible to evacuate Ghanaians in Ukraine following Russia’s attack on Ukraine on Thursday 24th February 2022.
The deputy minister speaking in an interview with Kwame Appiah Kubi on Kessben TV stated that not even the likes of the UK and America have been able to evacuate their citizens from the attacked country.
He noted that since the attack, his office has held several engagements with the Government of Ukraine to ensure that Ghanaians who are in Ukraine will be safe.
According to him, following the attack, temporal sheltered places have provided where most Ghanaians are likely to be.
He stressed that there is no way evacuation can happen now due because Ukraine has closed all their borders and placed a ban on the movement of flights.
Hon. Ampratwum said Ghana condemns the attack by Russia on Ukraine, describing it as very unfortunate.
