Pregnant women implored to sleep under treated mosquito nets
Dr Keziah Malm, Programmes Manager for National Malaria Control has called on Ghanaians especially pregnant women to sleep under treated mosquito nets to avoid malaria.
Dr Keziah mentioned that since there is medicine to cure malaria most Ghanaians are not paying critical attention to the preventive measures.
She indicated that though malaria mortality rate in the country has been reduced due to the hardwork of Malaria Control Personel, however, there are still citizens who suffer from the sickness.
Thus, Dr Keziah Malm, entreated Ghanaians to sleep under the treated net which will soon be distributed free by Ghana health service and it sponsors partners to avoid contracting the disease
Speaking in a sideline interview with Kessbenfm’s Osempakani Sampson during National and Regional supervisors workshop as part of long lasting insecticide mosquitoes net registration, Dr further called on Ghanaians to seek early treatment of malaria especially the pregnant women.
Added that pregnant women have to visit hospital for antenatal to protect them and their unborn babies.
