E Levy: There are revenue shortfalls, either we look for revenue or the country breaks down – Kusi Boafo
The chief executive officer of the public sector reforms, Mr Kusi Boafo has said that it is best for the country to find ways to generate revenue than to sit aloof.
According to him, the country may completely break down if necessary measures are not taken to find revenue to run the economy.
Speaking on Kessben Maakye with Kwame Appiah Kubi on Kessben FM/TV, Mr Boafo opined that the introduction of the Electronic Levy is a form to generate revenue for the country.
Meanwhile, the minority in parliament have demonstrated against the approval of the E levy in the 2022 budget.
They insist, there are better ways to generate money for the state than to resort to nonsensically taxing electronic transactions.
