Basic schools in Ghana to run semester system, GES must respect parents – Hon Joseph Kumah

Member of Parliament for Kintampo North. Joseph Kumah has lamented over Ghana Education Service’s tinkering proposal to shift basic schools to run on semesters.

Hon. Joseph Kumah avers the continues changes within the Ghana education system is something that has dragged education in Ghana backward.

He reckons it is a total disrespect to stakeholders in the educational structure especially parents who are key stakeholders. According to him, they are confusing the parents.

Speaking on Kessben Maakye on Kessben 92.9 FM with Kwame Appiah Kubi, Hon Joseph Kumah lamented that the GES ought to have made a broad consultation about the new system.

Basics schools in Ghana for many years had been on three vacations in a calendar year but with the new semester system, students will be going for 2 vacations in the year.
