I’m a legend for Ghana football, not a legend for Hearts of Oak only – Don Bortey

Former Accra Hearts of Oak forward Bernard Don Bortey has justified why he was present at the coronation game of Kumasi Asante Kotoko after they were crowned champions of the 2021-22 Ghana premier league.

Many Accra Hearts of Oak fans have criticized their former striker for meddling with the glorification of their bitterest rivals, Asante Kotoko.

Don Bortey speaking on Kessben TV questioned that his so-called former club which regards him as a legend does not give him the necessary recognition.

He stressed that he’s not only a legend of Accra Hearts of Oak but a legend for Ghana football.

“I’m a legend for Ghana football, not a legend for Hearts of Oak only. The Hearts people who complained that I went to Kotoko’s coronation, do they know how I survive? Has any of them sent me MOMO the following morning? When Hearts of Oak won the league last season, who did they invite?” He said.
