The national communication director of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Mr. Yaw Buabeng Asamoah has rubbished claims that the party is pushing for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to take over from President Akufo-Addo as the next flagbearer of the party.
Speaking on Kessben FM/TV with Kwame Appiah Kubi, Mr. Buabeng Asamoah stated that the Vice president is only enjoying the advantage of incumbency.
He noted that the party has equal grounds for all aspirants who intend to contest to become the next flagbearer of the party ahead of the 2024 Elections.
Some stalwarts in the party including Dr. Bawumia, Alan Kyeremanteng, Dr. Konadu Apraku, Joe Ghartey, and Afryie Akoto have all indicated to contest for the flagbearership position.
